This program is divided into two branches - the medical Treatment Program
and the active Rehabilitation Program.
Clients may attend either one or both branches of the program. He or she
may be referred directly from the Initial Assessment or may have been
discharged from the Inpatient or Day Programs and require follow-up support.
Medical Treatment Program
The medical Treatment Program is designed for patients who require ongoing
medical management of their pain. The patient will either see a medical
internist, psychiatrist, anesthesiologist, or all three depending on his
or her needs. All appointments with physicians are followed up with a
report to the referral source.
Active Rehabilitation Program
The active Rehabilitation Program is for
patients who require either occupational therapy, physiotherapy,
or psychology, or all three. The patients attend on an outpatient
basis and work with a therapist individually. This is a dynamic
program, requiring active patient participation. The program
is designed to optimize a patient’s physical and emotional
function. Therapists work closely with the referral source
and reports are available upon request.
